To hand are the leaflets from both of the opposing sides in the Referendum which is soon going to take place in Ireland about whether or not to remove the amendment to the Irish constitution which bans abortion. It is a matter of great importance, and both sides are hard at it, canvassing and putting up posters. It is exactly the sort of issue that we at The Edmund Burke Institute might be expected to be closely involved in. However, because of our charitable status we don’t think that it would be right for us to take part in so controversial a political matter. It is, however, no secret that several of our directors are campaigning for a NO vote in their private capacities.
